Polygram Records balks on its LIFETIME agreement
A user of CD rot send a email to Polygram explaining that they had about 25 CDs with small wholes in them. He emailed Polygram (the record label on the CDs) asking them to replace the CDs because on each of them Polygram explains a that the CDs “will provide a LIFETIME of listening enjoyment.”
Here is the email that he got back…
‘Unfortunately, CDs do not have a lifetime guarantee. Like most other
consumer goods, they do wear out over time and while you probably
handle yours with the utmost of care, time itself can be the
destructive force. We do apologize for your situation, but are
unable to exchange your product.’
Anyone else experience something like this? Email me at phil at cdrot.com and I’ll put your story up here….
best,
Phil

I have a polygram music CD that emits a loud grinding sound from the drive during play. No other discs do that.
It looks like there is no reason to send it back.
Thanks for the heads up!!
